Two more policemen die of coronavirus

Two more policemen have died after being infected with coronavirus or COVID-19.

The deceased are Sub-Inspector SM Mukul Mia, 55, who worked at Khilgaon police station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), and Constable Md Abul Hossain Azad, 51, who worked at the Azampur police outpost of Uttara division under DMP.

This was confirmed from police headquarters on Monday (June 15) noon.

Mukul breathed his last around 11am today while undergoing treatment at the Impulse Hospital in Dhaka. He was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.

Azad died early today while undergoing treatment at the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh.

With the death of these two police members, the number of deaths from COVID-19 infection in Bangladesh Police rose to 27.
