UNO stands by Ripon after risingbd publishes report

Fatikchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sayedul Arefin has stood beside that Ripon Kumar Tripura of Datmara area of the upazila in Chattogram.

Country popular online news portal ‘risingbd’ on Saturday published a report with titled “College admission uncertain even after getting Golden GPA-5.”

After noticing the news, UNO on Sunday took initiatives for scholarship of Bureau Bangla for Ripon.

Ripon will get Tk 6,000 every month for his study, he added.

Sayedul Arefin also made contacts to Ramakrishna Mission, another non-government organization, to provide free accommodation for Ripon in the town. Besides, he also arranged scholarship of Tk 4,000 for him immediately.

As he got Tk 4,000 to get admission to college, Ripon told risingbd that he is very happy and excited for this.

He said, “I’m very grateful to people including UNO sir who came to forward to help me. Since SSC, I had been very worried about my future, including college admission. Now that worries have turned into happiness. Actually, the matter came to everyone’s attention after risingbd published a feature story on me. For this, I thanked the news portal.”

UNO Sayedul Arefin said, “It cannot be happened someone will stop his study for money. It is my official duty to give a helpless student the opportunity to continue his studies. That's what I've tried to do. If there is any such meritorious student who is in financial difficulties, if you let me know, I will try my best to help, In Sha Allah.”

Mentionable, Swapon Kumar Tripura, son of Ripon sister, also achieved GPA-4.78 from science department from same school. He is fighting against extreme poverty for his studies. When UNO Sayedul Arefin was informed about Swapon Kumar, he also arranged for him to get a scholarship.
