A union parishad member has been shot dead by unknown miscreants at Jurachhari upazila of Rangamati.
The accident took place at 11.00pm on Friday.
The deceased was Hemanto Chakma (27), a member of Bonjogichhara Union Parishad and a resident of Dhamaipara village of the upazila
According to locals, a group of miscreants stormed into a house where Hemanto was staying and opened fire at him, leaving him dead on the spot.
