VP Nur opens up about viral audio clip

An audio recording of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) VP Nurul Haque Nur that went viral on social media sparked criticism.

Nur came up with clarification on Facebook Live.

He said, “The discussion of Tk 13 crore transaction was not of his own, but his auntie’s. It is totally family matter.”

He claimed that a quarter is spreading propaganda against him making it an issue.

Nur said the discussion of transaction was for business purpose of one of my aunties. There is nothing to make so razzle-dazzle over the matter.

He further said, “A person wanted to assist us some money. But we did not want it from ourselves. He just expressed his eagerness for assistance. But the transaction was not happened.”

“Such an incomplete audio clip will make people confused. People will understand if they hear the whole audio recording. It was just a part of the audio clip,” he added.

Nur said, “It is a propaganda against me. A quarter is trying to spread propaganda from fear of movement.”

A defamation case will be filed against the private television channel “New 24” for airing the audio clip from intention, he said.
