Vehicles' long queue at Paturia ferry ghat

The ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia river-route were disrupted for the last couple of days due to strong current, ferry crisis at the River Padma.

As a result, over three hundred of goods-laden truck of 21 districts of the south-western region of the country were stranded at Paturia and Daulatdia ghats.

Concerned officials of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) said, though there is a long tailback of trucks but the number of passenger bus and private cars are few here.

Md. Zillur Rahman, acting DGM of BIWTC Aricha office said, 12 ferries of 16 are plying now in the route. Ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia river route was facing disruption due to heavy current.
