Vested quarters spreading rumours: IGP

Senior Correspondent:  Inspector General of Police Md Javed Patwary has said that vested quarters are spreading rumours over the Padma Bridge in bid to destabilize the country.

He said this at a press conference at the media centre of the Police Headquarters on Wednesday noon.

The chief of police said, “No head is needed for the Padma Bridge. Rumours are being spread by vested quarters for a dishonest purpose. The investigation has begun. I urge people not to listen to the rumours. Tell the police if you suspect anyone”.

A total of 31 cases have been filed and 103 people have been arrested in this connection so far, the police boss said.
