Vikram Doraiswami to become new Indian envoy to Dhaka

The Indian government is set to appoint Vikram Doraiswami as the new Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka. He will replace Riva Ganguly Das.

Diplomatic sources said, the decision was taken at a national level meeting at New Delhi on Saturday evening (July 11).

Besides, Riva Ganguly Das is scheduled to replace Shri Vinay Kumar in Afghanistan.

Doraiswami, the 1986 batch of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, who is likely to take over as Secretary East at the external affairs ministry when the incumbent Vijai Thakur Singh retires in September. Earlier, he worked as ambassador to South Korea.
