War crimes: Verdict against Rajshahi man Tuesday

Staff Correspondent: A tribunal is set to pronounce verdict tomorrow (Tuesday) in a case filed against Abdus Samad alias Firoz Kha alias Musa of Rajshahi for his committed crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation.

A three-member International Crimes Tribunal bench, headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, on Monday set the date for pronouncing the verdict.

Earlier on July 8, the tribunal kept the verdict awaiting.

The accused, who locally led the peace committee, committed crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation as the supporter of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Charges involving torture and arson attack were also brought against Abdus Samad.

Accused Abdus Samad hails from Banshbaria area of Puthia upazila of Rajshahi.
