Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak raised question over price soaring of cauliflower in the capital.
He said, “A piece of cauliflower is being sold at Tk 7 in a market in Cumilla. But it costs Tk 50 in the capital. Why is so much difference between prices of the two places?”
The ruling party leader visited market situation at Nimsar Bazar in Cumilla on Monday night.
On the following day, he came up with the observation while speaking a programme in the capital.
Nanak said, “I left Dhaka for Cumilla to attend a programme there on Monday night. I reached Nimsar Bazar around 12:15am. I visited the market and talked farmers to know the situation.”
“A piece of cauliflower is being sold at Tk 7 there. But it costs Tk 50 per piece in the capital. Why? No pro-people government like Awami League cannot accept it,” he added.
