Wife of additional IGP dies of dengue

Staff Correspondent: The wife of a senior police official died after being diagnosed with dengue fever at a hospital in Dhaka on Sunday morning.

Saiyada Akhtar, 52, wife of Shahabuddin Koraishi, additional inspector general of police (IGP), breathed her last around 11:30am while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in the capital.

Jahangir Alam, customer service officer at the hospital, said Saiyada Akhtar was admitted at Square Hospital on Saturday and she was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Prof Dr Mirza Nazimuddin, medical service director at the hospital, Saiyada Akhtar was admitted at the hospital with dengue shock syndrome.
