Woman burnt in Chalantika slum fire dies

Thirty five-year old Parvin Aktar, who was severely burnt in the fire originated in the Chalantika slum at Mirpur 7 in Dhaka yesterday afternoon, has died this morning.

She passed away at 7:45am while undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Confirming the matter, Sub- inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said Parvin sustained burns on 90 percent of her body in the Chalantika slum fire and died this morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
