Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmud has said it will not tolerate any corruption in the government-run relief programmes amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country.
“No one will be spared if he or she is involved in corruption. Social and professional identity will not be acceptable for us’, he said.
The ACC chairman said this while holding a meeting with the officials of detective units on relief programmes on Tuesday.
“The Commission will not tolerate any corruption in the government's social security programmes,” Iqbal Mahmud said.
The Commission received information through the media and its own intelligence about various irregularities and corruption by some individuals in different government-run social security programmes, he added.
