Govt to procure 10,000 MTs lentil

The government approved a proposal for procuring some 10,000 MTs of lentil to meet the growing demand of the country at the cost of Tk 97.92 crore.

The approval came from this year’s 6th meeting of Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) held at the Cabinet Division conference room at Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday (February 4) with Adviser to the interim government on the Ministry of Finance Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Following a proposal from the Ministry of Commerce, the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) would procure 10,000 MTs of lentil locally by Open Tender Method (OTM) from Nabil Naba Foods Limited with around Tk 97.92 crore with per kg lentil costing Tk 97.22.
