Gold price hits record high

Gold prices in Bangladesh have reached a new record.
According to the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS), the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 3,033 to Tk 1,65,209 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest ever in the country.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of BAJUS made the decision at a meeting on Wednesday.
New prices will come into effect on Thursday, according to a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the committee.
However, prices of silver remained unchanged.
