BB governor announces market-based exchange rate regime

Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur has announced the market-based exchange rate regime.

The BB governor made the announcement at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (May 14).

He said no dollar was sold from the reserves in the last 9 months. Still, the exchange rate has been stable for the last few months without any intervention. In such a situation, we have decided to launch the market-based exchange rate. The bankers have been informed about the matter.
