Walton offers 10 years guaranty for inverter fridge compressor

Economic Correspondent: The country’s consumer based electronics giant ‘Walton’ has declared 10 years replacement guaranty for the compressors with intelligent inverter technology used in its non-frost refrigerators.

 

Walton officials said usage of inverter technology’s compressors in Walton refrigerators is resulted in not only reducing the fridge’s power consumption but also raising the compressor’s lifetime. The application of Nano healthcare technology also keeps the food spick and span.

 

The officials said, Walton offered 8 years replacement guaranty for fridge’s compressors with induction technology. But now, the guaranty period has been increased to 10 years for the distinctive features of the inverter technology’s compressor.

 

Walton uses those compressors with inverter technology, which are passed in the quality test of NUSDAT-UTS, a local world-class testing lab accredited by Bangladesh Accreditation Board.

 

According to engineers, during summer months when cooling load is more, the intelligent inverter technology based compressor works at peak capacity taking more electricity. But during winter months when cooling load is less, the compressor works less there by consuming less electricity. Even in summer month, the night temperature is less than the day temperature and thus electricity savings happen in night when compressor can run at a lesser speed. But, the compressor with induction technology works at a constant speed during winter and summer season and thus consumer higher electricity.

 

Besides, the amount of noise made by the refrigerator is much less in refrigerators with inverter technology as compared to the regular ones. Also energy or electricity consumption is much less when the temperature stabilizes.

 

Md Abdur Rouf, director (sustainable energy) of Powercell, a think tank of Power Division, said, “To ensure best uses of our produced electricity, we are now encouraging the common people to use the energy efficient electronics and electrical appliances like inverter technology’s items, LED light and bulb, CFL bulb and so on.”

 

Dwelling on the distinctive features of intelligent inverter refrigerators, Walton Group’s Executive Director (Sourcing Engineering Dept.) Ashraful Ambia said, the inverter technology’s no-frost refrigerators usually consume 30 to 40 percent less electricity than the induction or general technology’s fridges.

 

The compressors with inverter technology never switches off even when the temperature stabilizes, but runs at a slower speed maintaining the temperature inside the refrigerators, he said adding, thus these compressors consume comparatively low electricity. And, the lifetime of these compressors is higher than that of regular fridge’s compressors.

 

The compressors used in Walton refrigerators will provide services more than the guaranteed period, he said adding, customers can use Walton brand’s refrigerators and fridges for 20 to 30 years if they follow the user guidelines properly,” he added.

 

The compressors will provide long-time service when its system function and accuracy will be ensured. Thus, Walton has brought more perfection in the cooling and accuracy system in its compressors, he noted.

 

The officials said, Walton released some models of intelligent inverter non-frost refrigerators of different capacities, including 323 liter, 348lt, 386lt, 396lt, 430lt, 512lt, 526lt and 585 lt. Among these, 3-door no frost refrigerator (526lt) is receiving sound response from the customers. More models of no-frost refrigerators would be introduced in the local market by the next couple of months.

 

Engineer Anisur Rahman Mallik, senior deputy director of Walton Service Management System, said customer will get long time service from compressors without facing problems if they carry or transport fridges carefully.

 

During transportation or placement, the fridges should not be careened more than 30-degree angles. In Addition, customers should start fridge minimum two (2) hours later after the transportation, he added.
