Banks to remain open Friday, Saturday

Some branches of all banks in important places including the capital Dhaka will remain open with limited manpower on Friday and Saturday.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular in this regard on Thursday, considering the increased number of financial transactions ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The central bank has asked all banks to continue operations with limited manpower from 9.30am to 12.30 on April 30 (Saturday). After which bankers have to complete their relevant work by 3.00pm.

Besides, banks in industrial areas will remain open on Friday (29 April) from 9.30am to 1.00pm.

The relevant branches of the Bangladesh Bank will also remain open on 29 and 30 April with a limited capacity to ensure smooth transactions, the circular added.
