Bashundhara Eye Hospital launches ophthalmic diagnostic centre

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan inaugurating a modern and sophisticated ophthalmic diagnostic centre.

The most modern and sophisticated ophthalmic diagnostic centre has started its journey at Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute (BEHRI) with a view to providing world class eye treatments.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan inaugurated the modern diagnostic centre by cutting a ribbon on the BEHRI premises on Friday morning.

Prof. Dr Md Saleh Ahmed, a renowned eye specialist and director of BEHRI, Bashundhara Group’s Deputy Managing Director Eng AK Shamim,  Islamic Research Center Bangladesh, Bashundhara Director General Mufti Arshad Rahmani, Bashundhara Group’s Media Adviser Mohammad Abu Tayeb, East West Property Development (EWPD) Pvt Limited Executive Director (estate) Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, EWPD Executive Director (land purchase) Md Nazmul Alam Bhuiyan, and EWPD Executive Director (AHR and head of security) Major Md Mahbubul Wadud (retd) were present.

Bashundhara Eye Hospital Management Committee Chairman and former Dhaka University Professor Mahbub Ahmed, hospital doctors, manager, technologists and other staff attended the programme.   

They offered a prayer marking the inauguration of the modern diagnostic centre and seeking success of the new initiative.

Sources in the BEHRI said the newly-inducted diagnostic centre will pave the way for detecting the powers of lens for patients after cataract surgeries more exactly. The people suffering from cornea and glaucoma problems will be able to go through most sophisticated investigation and the best treatment.

Besides, the new diagnostic will facilitate all kinds of critical retina tests and modern treatment.

Speaking on the occasion, Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan laid emphasis on the quality of treatment and research in the hospital.

He assured the hospital authorities of all-out support for ensuring competitive treatment and research.

Later, he visited various rooms of the diagnostic centre and inspected the machines. 

Prof Dr Md Saleh Ahmed said the hospital will be able to extend better healthcare service to the patients by dint of the modern diagnostic centre.

It may be noted that Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute is a flagship healthcare venture of the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group.

Although affluent people receive treatment from the hospital on payment, the poor and vulnerable people are treated and operated for free.
