Remittance inflow is increasing gradually. It has set a new record ahead of Eid. In the recently concluded month of March, remittance inflow into Bangladesh reached 201 crore 76 lakh US dollar, which is the highest in seven months of the current fiscal year. Earlier in August last year, 203 crore US dollar remittance came to the country.

The updated report published by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (April 2) revealed the information.

In March, state-owned banks received 23 crore 46 lakh US dollar, a specialized bank received 4 crore 50 lakh 60 thousand US dollar, private banks received 173 crore 15 lakh US dollar and foreign banks received 65 crore 20 thousand US dollar remittance.

The total remittance inflow during the period from July to March of 2022-23 fiscal year was 1603 crore US dollar. In the same period in the previous fiscal year, remittance came in 1,529 crore US dollar.

In 2021-2022 fiscal year, the total remittance inflow was 2,103 crore 17 lakh US dollar. Earlier, the amount of remittance collection in the fiscal year 2020-21 was 2,477 crore 77 lakh US dollar.
