Mexican businesses have expressed their interest to export halal meat to Bangladesh.
They expressed their interest at a seminar titled, “Unleashing Economic Potential: Bridging Bangladesh and Mexico at the San Ignacio de Loyola Auditorium of Iberoamericana University yesterday.
Highlighting various development initiatives of the government, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi as the chief guest urged Mexican entrepreneurs to explore economic opportunities in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh embassy in Mexico City, in collaboration with Iberoamericana University, organized the seminar.
Tipu spoke about Bangladesh's recent economic progress and described various initiatives undertaken by the present government.
Presenting a keynote paper, Additional Secretary to the commerce ministry Abdur Rahim Khan talked about the favorable trade and commerce landscape in Bangladesh.
He invited Mexican investors to explore the diverse opportunities in Bangladesh's 100 special economic zones.
Dr Aribel Contreras Suarez, coordinator of the Department of International Trade at Iberoamericana University, shared valuable insights into Mexico's economic perspective and identified potential areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Abida Islam moderated the seminar, which was attended by about 125 students, among others.
