No source tax on IT freelancing

The Bangladesh Bank has clarified that authorised dealer banks engaged in foreign exchange transactions will not be able to deduct source tax from IT freelancing sector.

The central bank issued a circular in this regard on Sunday (October 1). 

On 27 September, Foreign Exchange Policy Department of the central issued a circular regarding deducting the source tax from the said sector that created confusion among people.
