Mahi’s nomination cancelled

The nomination papers of General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and Dhallywood actress Sharmin Akhter Nipa alias Mahiya Mahi and three other candidates in Rajshahi-1 constituency have been cancelled.

Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed declared the nomination papers invalid around 10:30am on Sunday.

All the candidates were independent and all sought nomination from Awami League.
