9 burnt in Bhasanchar gas cylinder explosion

At least nine people sustained burn injuries after a gas cylinder exploded at a house of Bhasanchar Rohingya Housing Project under Hatiya upazila in Noakhali on Saturday morning. Most of them are children.

The incident took place at the cluster house no. 81 of a Rohingya housing project.

Immediately, all the burnt people were admitted to Bhasanchar Hospital. Later, they were shifted to Noakhali General Hospital.

Among them, seven have been taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment.  

The injured are Roshmida, 3, Jobida, 10, Mobashera, 3, Md. Rasel, 3, Md Sohel, 5, Md Rabiul, 5, Safi Alam, 15, Md Bashir Ullah, 16, and Amena Khatun, 25.

According to sources, foods were being cooked in the kitchen of Abdur Shukur’s room on a cylinder gas stove. At that time, the cylinder exploded with a loud noise and the whole room caught fire.
