Two youths die after drinking alcohol

Two people died after drinking alcohol at Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh district on Wednesday (February 28).

The deceased were identified as Arif Khan, 40, son of Jafor Khan, a resident of Batajor village under the upazila, and Adnan Khan, 32, son of Ashraf Khan, of the same village.

Local UP member Yasin Talukder said Arif and Adnan drank alcohol with their friends on Tuesday night. They started vomiting from Wednesday morning. Then Arif Khan was taken to Sakhipur Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Later, Adnan was taken to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex when he fell ill. When his health condition deteriorated, he was referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Adnan died on the way.

Bhaluka Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Kamal Akand confirmed the news.
