Army, air force, navy join firefighting efforts to douse sugar mill blaze 

Special teams of the army, air force and navy have joined the firefighting efforts to douse the fire broke out at a sugar mill, owned by S Alam Group, in Karnaphuli upazila of Chattogram district.

The fire originated around 4:15pm on Monday, but could not be brought under control till 10:15pm when the report was filled.

Assistant Director of Chattogram Divisional Fire Service Abdul Malek confirmed the news.

Around one lakh tonnes of sugar have been gutted in the fire, officers of the mill said.

However, no one was injured in this connection. 

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
