Grandma, grandson hacked to death in Chandpur

A 12-year-old boy and his grandmother were hacked to death by miscreants in the house of an expatriate at Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur district early Tuesday (May 28).

The deceased were known as Arafat, 12, a student of class six, and his grandmother Hamidunnessa, 70.

The incident took place at Yusuf’s house in West Radasar village under Bakila union in the upazila.

Hajiganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Abdur Rashid said on information, police visited the spot at night. PIB and police team jointly working to investigate the matter.

Chandpur Hajiganj circle additional police Supar Pankaj Kumar De said its can’t be a robbery incident. There would be three reasons. The investigation is underway considering many issues.
