Man goes missing as bulkhead hits trawler in Rupsha river

A man went missing as a bulkhead vessel hit a passenger trawler in the Rupsha River in Khulna last night.
The missing man is Mahatab Uddin, son of Shakil of Khalishpur Police Station area. He is a worker of the trawler.
Rupsha Naval outpost sub-inspector (SI) Md Monsur confirmed the incident on Monday (October 3) morning.
SI Monsur said that the Hiron point-bound trawler capsized with seven passengers on board as a bulkhead vessel hit it near Rupsha railway bridge at about 10 pm on Sunday.
Mahatab went missing while the other passengers managed to swim ashore.
On information, naval police rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to find out the missing man, said SI Monsur.
