Country now self-sufficient in food, nobody goes without food: State Minister

Stating that the country is now self-sufficient in food, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said we stand by the happiness and sorrow of marginalized people. Now no one goes without food. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government has made the socio-economic development of the people of Bangladesh.

He said this while addressing as the chief guest at the checque distribution ceremony of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s rehabilitation program for the needy people of the river erosion affected areas at his residence in Arani, Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday (November 26). Upazila administration organizes the event.

The State Minister said if the government does not have the goodwill, then the assistance cannot be given. Today we are able to provide 50,000 as financial assistance to 48 families each because of the good will of the Prime Minister.

Shahriar Alam said there is an economic recession across the world. But economically the country is in a strong position. There is no problem at least now during the Corona period.

Referring to the food crisis in the world, the state minister said there is no food problem in our country. We are self-sufficient in food. This time there has been a bumper yield of paddy in areas like Chattogram where earlier 8 to 10 maunds of paddy was found, now it is 20 to 22 maunds.
 
Stating that the government has determined the fair price of all products, he said, those who cannot buy products; The government has arranged subsidy for them. Bangladesh is the brightest star in the world. If the country is in the current state, there will be more development now than in the last 10 years.
