Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said to BNP, “The leaders of the party who have been sentenced, have fled abroad. That party has no future.”
The Minister said this while addressing as the chief guest on the concluding day of the month-long Liberation War victory fair in Manikganj on Saturday (February 4).
Zahid Maleque said, “The party which cannot develop the country, the country is not safe to them. Bangladesh is safe with Sheikh Hasina. Therefore, the people of the country will choose Sheikh Hasina in the next general election.”
Referring to Nipah virus as deadly, he said, “The death rate of this virus is 75%. There is no vaccine, no medicine, no treatment for this virus. So we have to be careful.”
The minister also said, “Nipah virus spreads through fruit and date juice eaten by bats. So, we have to be careful while consuming date juice. Eight people have been infected with Nipah virus in the country this time. Of these, five have died. 25-bed units have been opened in two hospitals for Nipah virus and 28 districts have been alerted.”
