Documentary will be made with interviews of 400 freedom fighters

Audio-video footage will be collected from domestic and foreign sources to prevent distortion of the history of the great Liberation War and publish accurate history and preserve those in the Bangladesh Film Archive. Besides, the government will make a documentary based on the interviews of 400 freedom fighters.
The capacity of Bangladesh Film Archive will be enhanced through training and implementation of various programmes. A modern film museum will be set up in the film archive, sources said.
Such an initiative will be taken under the project ‘Collection and Preservation of Audio-Video Documents of the Liberation War from Domestic and Foreign Sources and Increasing the Capacity of Bangladesh Film Archive’. The total cost of the project is Tk 56.73 crore. The project will be implemented within June of 2022 from the current time.
In this context, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs (Development) Md Salahuddin said “The project is in primary stage. Our officials are working on the project. Hopefully, it will progress very soon”.
Under the project, a real time film scanner worth Tk 5 crore will be purchased. Tk two crore will be spent to edit the film in restoration system. Unit for Color Correction, Non-linear Editing System, Promotional Video-cam Recorder, Archival Camera and Heavy Duty Photocopier will be purchased. The net present value of the project has been shown as Tk. 65 crore 33 lakh. It will cost Tk 50 lakh to buy 1,000 domestic and international books and journals related to the Liberation War, sources said.
