Eid Journey should be safe

The city dwellers are leaving the capital to celebrate Eid with their nearest and dearest ones. Eid-ul-fitr will be celebrated on June 5 or 6, depending on the sighting of the moon. The capital is becoming empty centering the Eid festival. Although city residents are bound to stay here for the sake of livelihood. They started their homebound journey few days ago.

People face several kinds of hassle on the way to their home. But, the home goers are eager to meet their nearest and dearest ones in native villages. People forget all kinds of sufferings and troubles on the way to home when they meet their relatives after the hectic journey.

A good number of people are leaving Dhaka centering Eid vacation as usual. Complains from passengers are few this time following better management and increased number of vehicles in roads and river. Traffic jam is lessen than previous time.

On the other hand, many people become frustrated due to few number of seats in train against the demand. Besides, train schedule collapse create sufferings to the homebound people.

Road accident is another problem during Eid journey. Though, the rate of road accident is high. The tension and accident rate increase as additional number of vehicle ply on road on this occasion. Couple of road accidents took place in last few days. At total of 22 people lost their lives in seperate road accidents across the country on June 2.

Vehicle drivers and concerned all should be careful in this regard. Special surveillance is needed so that everyone can reach their destination safely. The authority should pay attention so that no vehicle can move without fitness.

The passengers also should remain alert over the issue. We expect that the journey of homebound people will be safe and secure.
