Considering the health safety of the students, the government has decided to keep the schools and colleges closed for seven days starting from April 21 due to the ongoing heatwave that is sweeping across the country.

It means the educational institutions will reopen on April 28.

According to a notification of the Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education, all government and private schools and colleges under the DSHE will remain shut for seven days more following the heat alert issued by the met office, though it was scheduled to reopen on Sunday (April 21).

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has announced that all government primary schools will remain shut for seven days starting from April 21 due to the ongoing heatwave sweeping across the country.

At the same time, schools of the Child Welfare Trust and learning centres for non-formal education will also remain closed.

A notification, signed by Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, senior information officer at the ministry, has been issued on Saturday (April 20).

Mentionable, all educational institutions across the country were supposed to reopen on Sunday (April 21) after Ramadan and Eid vacation.
