Facebook post regarding holding classes on Fridays was ‘mistakenly’

The Education Ministry has said the statement made by Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel about holding classes on Fridays if needed to keep the academic activities running on the Ministry’s verified Facebook page is not correct.

Even, the ministry also said that no decision has been taken in this regard.

The Education Ministry made the clarification in its verified Facebook page on Sunday (May 5) afternoon.

“The statement made by Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel about holding classes on Fridays if needed to keep the academic activities running on the Ministry’s verified Facebook page was posted mistakenly. No decision has been taken in this regard. Classes will be held on Saturdays until further instructions,” the new post said.

Earlier in the day, Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel in another post left on the verified Facebook page of the Education Ministry said classes will be held on Fridays if needed to reduce the learning gap caused by recent closures.

“We have now 185 working days. Out of the days, 20 days have been kept for assessment of the new curriculum. If the working days reduced further, classes will be held on Fridays to keep the academic activities running,” Nowfel said.
