Jagannath University passes Tk297cr budget

Jagannath University has passed its primary budget of Tk 297.82 crore for the fiscal year 2025–2026.
Out of this, Tk 8 crore has been allocated for research, which was is double compared to last year.
The university's 102nd syndicate meeting passed it on Monday.
The information was confirmed by university treasurer Prof Dr Sabina Sharmin.
According to the budget, Tk 8.3 crore has been allocated for research, Tk 25 lakh for primary healthcare, Tk 58.21 crore for various grants, Tk 4.92 crore for equipment, Tk 3 crore for transportation, Tk 1.70 crore for ICT, and Tk 80 lakh for other capital expenditures.
Additionally, Tk 128.6 crore has been allocated for salaries and allowances, Tk 84.31 crore for goods and services, Tk 56 crore for supplementary scholarships for students, and Tk 24.9 crore for the construction of temporary halls.
For the first time, the budget includes allocations for thesis, MPhil, and PhD research for students. An amount of Tk1 crore has been earmarked for master's theses and MPhil–PhD research support.
