College admission list to out today

Secretariat Correspondent: The inter-board coordination subcommittee hopes to publish the first merit list for college admission today (Sunday).

Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan made the disclosure at the Secretariat this noon but he was unable to confirm the exact time of the result publication.

 

"A problem with the computer programme processing the list had been solved. There are some other problems, too. I hope it would be possible to publish the list today,” he said.

According to the circular of the education ministry, the first merit list for HSC admission was to be published at 11:30pm on June 25. Later, they fixed the date at 11:30pm on June 26.

However, the ministry failed to publish the results and announced that the first merit list will be published at 8:30am on Saturday (June 27) which later was also cancelled.

Now a message posted on the website for HSC admission www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd, says that the process to publish the results is underway and the new schedule of the results will be announced ‘soon’.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Board, in a statement said students in the first merit list would be able to get admission to colleges between June 27 and 30, without having to pay any late fee.

A second merit list will be published on July 2, based on the seats remaining in colleges after the first lot of admissions.

Classes will start from July 1 and the practicals will begin from Aug 1.
