The BCL activists locked the entrance of the office of the VC on Monday noon before a syndicate meeting to be held over the recruitments.

The agitated BCL activists also staged demonstrations in front of the Vice-chancellor’s office.

Sources say, a teacher in the Chemistry Department and some official at the Register office of the university had been recruited recently. A fraction of the student wing of the ruling party in the University roused over the matter and demanded the cancelation of the recruitments.

The recruitments were to be finialsed in the syndicate meeting. But the meeting was spoiled due to the students’ agitation.

Later, the authority decided to hold the syndicate meeting in the evening and assured the students that the matter will be discussed in the meeting.
