Prof Dr Mashiur made new NU VC

Professor Dr M Mashiur Rahman has been appointed as vice-chancellor (VC) of the National University (NU).

Secondary and Higher Education Directorate of the Education Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Sunday (May 30).

He is a professor of the Department of Sociology at Dhaka University.  

He earned a doctor of philosophy degree from Lund University in Sweden, where he also did his post-doctorate.

He started his teaching career in the Department of Sociology, University of Chittagong.
