54,000 non-govt teachers recruitment: Secy comes up with good news

After a long wait, Non-government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has issued a notification on March 30 to recruit 54,304 teachers in non-government educational institutions. The application process was over on April 30.

Though the appointment was supposed to be made within a month, the appointment has been postponed due to the verdict of the High Court (HC).

However, Mominur Rashid Amin, Additional Secretary (Secondary) of the Ministry of Education, said they would like to recommend the appointment of the teachers this week.

On Saturday (June 19), Mominur Rashid Amin told risingbd that all our processes have been completed. An appeal has also been lodged against the High Court (HC) verdict which is scheduled to be heard next Monday. If the hearing of that day is in favor of NTRCA, then it is possible to release the result in a day or two. Because, all the process of publishing the results has been completed.

He added, “We want to complete the recruitment process as soon as possible. Because, there is a shortage of many teachers in schools. We want to meet the shortage. But, we want to complete this process by appointing talented teachers. Teacher recruitment guidelines states that recruitment will be on the basis of national merit list. Those who have good results will be recruited first. This will allow registered people with higher numbers to go to suitable places.”

Referring to the combined list, the Additional Secretary (Secondary) of the Ministry of Education said, “If someone gets 40-mark and files writ petition for appointment, if he is appointed, the one who got 80 marks will be deprived. The High Court has issued an order to appoint 1,500 teachers within four weeks (by June). However, if the appointment is completed as per the order, it is not possible to be appointed as per the national merit order. If these 1,500 teachers are appointed again, many more will retaliate. Then the matter will become more confusing. Therefore, an appeal has been lodged on behalf of NTRCA.”
