DU expels one student, suspends 108 others

Dhaka University has expelled a student and suspended 108 students for different terms for adopting unfair means in examinations, eve-teasing, anti-university behaviour and taking drugs.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the disciplinary committee of the university on Wednesday (January 25).
After the meeting, Dhaka University's Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani confirmed the matter.
The expelled student is Jim Najmul, a resident student of Masterda Surja Sen Hall of the university. The authority took the disciplinary action against him as the allegation of eve-teasing against him was proved.
Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said a total of 109 students were punished for various periods on charges. Among them, Jim was permanently expelled.
