HSC results: No student passes from 50 institutions

The results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations of 2022 have been published on Wednesday (February 8).

This year, the HSC and equivalent examinations were held at a total of 9,139 institutions across the country.

Not a single student passed from 50 institutions in the HSC and equivalent examinations, according to the results published today.

The number is 10 times higher than that in the previous year’s HSC and equivalent examinations. In the 2021 HSC and equivalent examinations, only five educational institutions across the country had zero pass rate.

This year, the average pass rate is 85.95 per cent across the country.

The pass rate in Dhaka is 87.80 per cent, while 78.76 per cent in Chattogram, 80.32 per cent in Mymensingh, 81.59 per cent in Rajshahi, 81.4 per cent in Sylhet, 83.32 per cent in Jashore and 85.95 per cent in Barishal.

Total 1,78,443 students achieved GPA 5 in the HSC.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni held a press conference to brief the details of the results at International Mother Language Institute in the capital’s Shegun Bagicha at 12:30pm.

Earlier, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni handed over the copies of results to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Later, the Prime Minister published the results of HSC and its equivalent examinations by pressing a button on the computer around 11:45 am.

A total of 12,03,407 candidates took part in the examination under nine general education boards, madrasa board and technical education board.

Candidates can get their results online or through SMS, board officials said.

To get the results under general boards through SMS, candidates have to type HSC, the first three letters of the board name, followed by the candidate’s roll number and the year, and send it to 16222.

Alternatively, the candidates can also get results from http://www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.

They can download individual result sheets by entering roll and registration number.

Educational institutions can also download the results from https://dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd/ by putting in the EIIN number of the institution.
