Hundreds of candidates worried about 45th BCS preli result

Hundreds of candidates in Dhaka and Rangpur regions are worried about the result of 45th BCS preliminary held on Friday (May 19).

They are worried about the result as they did not give their respective signatures on attendance sheets sent from Public Service Commission (PSC).

The authorities of the respective centres claimed that they took signature from the candidates on a white sheet.

It was learnt that the signatures of the candidates could not be taken due to the complexity of the seating arrangement.

The incident happened in at least eight centres of Rangpur and Dhaka regions, where 120 candidates were from the three centres in Rangpur. The authorities of the centres could not take signature of the examinees on attendance sheets sent from PSC.

According to PSC sources, PSC for the first time has arranged seats on the basis of random selection. Seats were planned by dividing the candidate’s registration number into even and odd numbers in the attendance list. PSC arranged the seats for each center across the country in new system. But, there found discrepancies on the board lists of seat plans at eight centres in Rangpur and Dhaka.

The authorities then took their exams in separate rooms in special arrangements considering their sufferings.

The candidates of those centres alleged that there were no ‘help desk’.

An official of PSC said, “One of their team went to those centres in the capital where the candidates fell in trouble and took signatures on white sheet.”

He assured that there will be no problem for the examinees.
