Over one lakh teacher posts have remained vacant in private educational institutions across the country. An initiative has been taken to recruit 32,000 teachers through the fourth mass circular in a bid to resolve the teacher crisis. However, the certificate verification and police verification have slowed down the final recommendation process.
According to sources, the Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has speeded up its process to implement the initiative and it will send a letter next week seeking the final permission from the education ministry.
When asked, NTRCA Secretary Obaidur Rahman said a lot of progress has been made regarding the final recommendation of the fourth mass circular. After overcoming the complexity of the writ, we would like to make the final recommendation for the appointment of teachers. We have already received positive advice from the solicitor in this regard.
Police verification activities for the teachers, who received initial recommendation for recruitment in non-government educational institutions, were completed July 27, 2023. Due to the large number of teachers, verification took time. As a result, the authority extended time till August 10.
