Fire breaks out at Bappa Mazumder`s residence

A fire broke out at the residence of renowned Bangladeshi singer Bappa Mazumder on Thursday morning in Dhaka's Banani area.

The singer said that the fire reportedly started on the ground floor of the building. After receiving a call on the intercom, he tried to leave the house and meanwhile, he noticed darkness and smoke all around him.

In a social media post, Bappa wrote, “We narrowly escaped a fire in our building. Thankfully, we are all safe. Immense thanks to the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence. Had they not responded so quickly, the outcome could have been catastrophic. It was a terrifying experience—still hard to process.”

The singer expressed his gratitude and said: “By the grace of the Almighty, we were saved from a major disaster. Since it was early in the morning and the roads were less crowded, the fire service arrived quickly. I can’t imagine what could have happened otherwise. I’m still recovering from the mental trauma—it will take time.”
