Actor Khalilullah Khan Khalil
Entertainment Correspondent: Veteran actor Khalilullah Khan Khalil has died at Square Hospital in city on Sunday morning.
He was 80.
The National Film Award winning actor breathed his last around 10.58am, Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, President of Bangladesh Film Directors` Association, told risingbd.com.
Khalil had been suffering from various diseases of lungs, liver and kidneys for a long time.
The veteran actor was born on February 2, 1934. He made his debut in film in 1959 with Sonar Kajol.
The powerful actor of silver screen acted in many renowned films like Preet Na Jane Reet, Jongli Phool, Bini Sutar Mala, Sonar Cheye Dami, Megher Pore Megh, `Modhumoti`.
Khalil earned huge appreciation for his character `Mia` in `Sangsaptak` aired on BTV.
In recognition of his contribution to the country`s film industry, Khalil was honoured with lifetime achievement award in National Film Award in 2012.
Khalilullah Khan Khalil was also the president of Bangladesh Film Artistes` Association.
