Mithun Chakraborty to star in Bangladeshi film

Staff Correspondent: Indian film actor, singer, producer, writer, social worker, entrepreneur and a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Mithun Chakraborty will be seen acting again in a film to be made in Bangladesh.

Gouranga Chakraborty, better known by his stage name Mithun Chakraborty, was born in Faridpur in present Bangladesh.

Hasan Jakir and Rasheed Palash will jointly direct the film ‘Janmobhumi’ (Mother Land). The directors told risingbd.com that they recently sent the script of the film to Mithun Chakraborty. The actor on last Friday (August 21) gave his consent to act in the film.

The story of the film resolves around various political and social incidents happened in 1945 to 1971 including the division of the Bengal province of British India into East Pakistan and West Bengal (India).

Chakraborty will play the role of a journalist-left politician who had to leave his motherland for the division.

The other casts of the film have not yet been finalised. The directors hoped to start the shooting of the film within December.
