Risingbd Desk: Kalpana, who had won the national award the best actress in a supporting role in the film Njaan Thanichalla (2012), died reportedly due to a heart attack at a hotel in Hyderabad during early hours on Monday.
She was in Hyderabad for the shooting of a Telugu and a Tamil film and to attend the HAIFA award function.
Kalpana, 51, had made her debut in M.T. Vasudevan Nair`s film Manj in 1983 and has acted in around 300 films. Her latest Malayalam film Charlie is still running in cinemas across Kerala.
She is survied by her actor-sister Urvashi.
Kalpana has done a variety of roles in Tamil starting from K.Bhagyaraj`s hit move in the 1980s Chinna Veedu.
Kalpana`s role in Kamal Haasan`s Sathi Leelavathi and Pammal K. Sambandam was widely appreciated.
In Tamil, she was last seen as Siva Karthikeyan`s mother in Khaaki Sattai.
