Azizul Hakim returns home

Renowned actor Azizul Hakim, who was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Bangladesh Specialised Hospital after being diagnosed with Coronavirus (Covid-19) on November 10, has returned home from the hospital.

The actor left the hospital around 12:30 pm on Wednesday (November 25).

Confirming the news to risingbd, Azizul Hakim’s daughter Najah Hakim said, “My father is now in good health by the grace of Almighty Allah. He can also move and walk. We have brought our father home around this noon.”

Doctors have advised my father to take a long rest, she said.

Najah Hakim has sought blessings from all for his father.

Earlier on Tuesday (November 17) afternoon, the actor was shifted to the cabin from the hospital’s ICU as his physical condition improved.

Azizul was admitted to the hospital around 8:30 pm on November 12 when his breathing problem intensified. He was kept on ventilator support at 8:30 am on November 13 as his health condition deteriorated. Later, he was put on life support as he developed a lung infection. On the evening of November 15, his life support was taken off.

Azizul Hakim’s wife Zeenat Hakim and son Muhaimin Redwan Hakim also tested corona positive and they were receiving treatment at their residence.

The actor started working on a new television drama series last month, previously the actor was on a break during the countrywide lockdown. The actor took part in a documentary about his life, which was written by Zeenat Hakim and directed by his daughter Nazah Hakim, recently.

He also made a comeback as a theatre director recently with a new production, "Indemnity," after a break of 15 years.

Starting his career in the 80s, Azizul Hakim has made a mark in theatre and television. He has been an integral part of the Aronnyak Natyadal for the last 40 years.
