Actor Farooque making recovery

Noted actor and lawmaker from Dhaka-17 constituency Akbar Hossain Pathan, popularly known as Farooque, is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

Farhana Pathan, wife of Farooque, said her husband has made somewhat recovery as his MRI report seems fine according to doctors.

Farhana Pathan said, “Alhamdulillah, Farooque’s health condition is now better than before. His MRI report is fine and now responding to doctors. He is making slow recovery by the grace of almighty Allah.”

She prayed to all for the early recovery of her husband.

On March 4, Farooque flew to Singapore for a regular checkup where he underwent some tests. It was found on March 13 that he was diagnosed with posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), septicemia, and pseudomonas.

Actor Farooque, who is also a freedom fighter, film producer and businessman, was elected MP from Dhaka-17 constituency in the last national election.

He is known as ‘Mia Bhai’ to mass people. He appeared in over 150 films in a career spanning more than five decades.

Farooque is one of the most recognizable stars of the classical and golden era of the Bangladeshi film industry.
