Elina Shammi to play Khaleda Zia in ‘Bangabandhu’ biopic

Actress Elina Shammi will play the role of Khaleda Zia in the ‘Bangabandhu’ biopic.

The biopic film is being directed by Bollywood's famous producer Shyam Benegal and co-produced by the governments of Bangladesh and India.

Elina Shammi confirmed the matter to risingbd.

She signed an agreement in this regard on Monday, the actress said.

This will surely be one of the most monumental films and I am glad to be part of such prestigious history, she said.

Actor Arifin Shuvoo will play the role of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while Nusrat Faria will play the role of Bangabandhu's daughter and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, in the biopic.

The movie may be released on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birthday in March 2022.
