The nation is celebrating 102nd birth anniversary of founding father of the nation Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day through extensive programs with fanfare and gaiety.
On this day in 1920, Bangabandhu, the undisputed leader of the Bangali nation, the architect of independent Bangladesh, and the greatest Bangali of all times, was born at Tungipara village of the then Gopalganj sub-division, now district.
He was the third among six siblings — two sons and four daughters — born to parents, Sheikh Lutfur Rahman, and Sheikh Sayera Khatun.
To mark the day, celebrations are organized in the form of parades and rallies in which children take part and dress in colorful clothing, with events organized throughout this special day celebrating the history of Bangladesh, as well as the importance of its children and the role they play in the nation’s future.
With festivities taking place across the nation, emphasis is placed on the importance of Bangladesh’s independence, ensuring the country’s children and other citizens understand and remember its authentic history.
To mark the day, Bangladeshi poet, lyricist and composer Mahbubul Khalid has penned several songs on children. Among them, Choto Choto Chele Meye, Hati hati Pa Pa, Projapati Projapoti, Mou Machi Mou Machi, Dadu Tumi Mosto Boro Gyani, Ma Sobai Keno Chadke Khoje are most noteworthy.
Mahbubul Khalid himself composed the music of most the songs. Late composer Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul and Roman Rahman tuned some of the songs. Popular young singers Kona, Abanti Sithi, Sabrina Nowshin, Nandita rendered their voices to the song.
Music videos of the songs have been released on the lyricist’s YouTube channel ‘Khalid Sangeet’. Besides, the songs have been published on Mahbubul Khalid’s musical website ‘khalidsangeet.com’.
Mentionable, poet, lyricist and composer Mahbubul Khalid has penned and tuned a vast number of songs including various days or observance, popular and renowned personalities, social awareness etc. His recent song on Covid-19 pandemic titled ‘Corona Ke Voy Koro Na’ (Don’t get panicked of Coronavirus) has been widely appreciated and created awareness on the deadly virus.
